Figure AI is one of the most richly funded and fastest-growing robotics startups in history. Founded in 2022 by Brett Adcock, the company has assembled an elite team of roboticists and AI researchers from Boston Dynamics, Apple, Tesla, Google DeepMind, and other world-class organizations to build general-purpose humanoid robots at unprecedented speed.
Figure's differentiation lies in its Helix VLA (Vision-Language-Action) AI model — a proprietary foundation model trained on massive datasets of human demonstrations that allows its robots to reason, adapt, and execute tasks without predefined scripts. This approach, combined with a human-form factor, enables Figure robots to slot into existing human workplaces without infrastructure changes.
After partnerships with BMW Manufacturing and OpenAI, Figure achieved a $39 billion valuation in its Series C round in September 2025. The Figure 03, launched in October 2025, was named TIME Magazine's Best Invention of 2025, cementing Figure AI's position as the leading pure-play humanoid robot company.

Figure 03 is the most dexterous humanoid robot ever built for commercial deployment. Its 20-DoF hands — with five fully articulated fingers — can handle fragile objects, perform fine assembly, and adapt to novel items in real time via the Helix VLA model. Wireless charging, a slimmer profile, and improved locomotion make it the ideal platform for mass manufacturing environments.

Figure 02 is Figure's first commercially deployed robot, currently working in BMW's manufacturing facilities and partner warehouses. It introduced the Helix AI platform for natural language task execution, allowing operators to give voice commands and have the robot complete multi-step tasks autonomously.
